Job Summary:
The SPMT Assistant Engineer supports the planning, engineering, and execution of heavy lift and self-propelled modular transporter (SPMT) operations for large-scale industrial and infrastructure projects across the Middle East. The role assists in load-out, load-in, module transportation, and installation activities while ensuring compliance with safety, engineering, and client standards
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and executing SPMT operations for heavy and oversized loads.
- Support preparation of load calculations, axle load distribution, stability analysis, and ground bearing pressure assessments.
- Participate in route surveys and site inspections to evaluate access roads, turning radii, and obstacles.
- Assist in preparing method statements, lift plans, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with project managers, rigging teams, and logistics personnel during mobilization and transport activities.
- Monitor SPMT configurations, hydraulic leveling systems, and power pack operations.
- Ensure proper alignment, synchronization, and safe movement of modules and heavy structures.
- Support troubleshooting during transport and load transfer operations.
- Ensure compliance with local transport regulations and HSE standards.
- Maintain project documentation, engineering drawings, and operation reports.
- Assist in communication with clients, consultants, and authorities during critical operations.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering.
- 2–5 years of experience in heavy lift, heavy transport, or SPMT operations.
- Basic knowledge of load calculations, structural stability, and ground pressure analysis.
- Familiarity with SPMT systems (Scheuerle, Goldhofer, or equivalent).
- Willingness to travel and work on remote project sites across the Middle East.
